If you have read my site you know that my son is doing well at 19. He loves, he trusts me...but...guess what? He is now a more typical teen trying to separate and find his own way in life. So difficult for me as I want him to stay home and catch up on those first 4 years he missed out on by going to Penn State online and living at home.
I think my biggest mistake was buying him a cell phone in Feb. Girls, girls, girls. He is talking to them and taking peer advice - not used to that as we cyber school. Now he talks of the U of Miami for gosh sakes.
Yes, I am complaining but you know what? I am also joyful as I know this is more typical stuff to expect from a 19 year old.
You and your child can make it to this wonderful time of life as well! Make sure you are working with a true attachment therapist and taking on the work you need to at home to help transform yourself and then your child.
God bless.
